Disappointed
by Robert Carson from Dunedin, FL
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
Our Room and the Staff
Cons:
Quality
November 18, 2009 Both my wife and I have been cruising for the past 25 years and feel that the latest cruise on Carnival Dream (15Oct09) was less than fully acceptable. The location (Mediterranean) was excellent, the ship was excellent plus the Ports of Call were also excellent. Our concerns were that the little things were lacking: 1. The food presented in the dining room was never provided hot. It was warn and eatable but not hot. This was pointed out to our Waiter. 2. We had our breakfasts at the Buffet, however, nobody was passing to provide a second cup. Back in the lineup to get your own. 3. The entertainment was in our opinion at a College level not the Professional level we expected except for the Soprano on one occasion. 4. The tours (which we took four) were overpriced for the quality that was received. The Monaco tour was a complete disappointment after paying $200.00 each. 5. When not taking a tour we were required to pay an additional $10.00 each for the Shuttle to transport you off the dock. Never required to pay for this on any other Cruises. We have a Cruise planned for Christmas but have decided that we will forgo any future Cruises for the next few years. We still plan to continue travelling but will select an alternative method. Regards: Robert Carson Yvonne Washer-Carson

good cruise
by Joe M from United States
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
staff excellent, food great, stateroom staff excellent,
Cons:
the ship was not equiped to handle the large crowd/ it smelled/ then they varnished/ I had a full blown asthma attack due to this/the laundry room was dirty, the machines were dirty, the water coming into the machines was slow, I even had to clean the filters in back of the dryers so they would dry
the music was wonderful, good variety, great info on shopping! however I am not a shopper. excersion desk very helpful actually went above and beyond on my last tour. The dancers were awsome. Verry talented. CONS: the smell of rotten eggs never went away. The laundry rooms and machine's were discusting. The water flow to these machines were inadequete and staff at the desk would not listen. After third time they did refund money and then cleaned my clothes for nothing. No coffee locations in the afternoon you had to buy it in the cafe! Also in the mornings they never had enough and there was not a server you had to get up and stand in line again to get a second cup or wait till they brewed more.

Honeymoon On the Dream
by A Traveler from Jacksonville, Florida
Sailing date:
Oct 2009
Pros:
New Ship, The Ports!
Cons:
The Food, Cruise Staff, Days at Sea
My wife and I too the 12 day Mediterranean Cruise on the Dream. The ship is Awesome, the ports were Awesome and we met some great people. The food was undercooked and the lines were extremely long. Carnival needs to a better job at crowd management for their shows and buffets. Shore excursions were great, they will cost you but it is recommended. We did not get to go to Monaco or Nice due to Weather :(. Carnival had no contingency plans for this and it made us have an extra day at sea, which was horrible. They did no promotions, the staff was rude and not good at all. The best thing about this cruise was the Boat, the Ports and 12 days with my wife!
