The best vacation idea ever! by
Trish from Trinidad & Tobago Sailing date: Nov 2009Pros: The activities, the ship, the friendliness of staff, my room, everything! Cons: the food was plenty but was not all tasty to me I am a first time cruiser but I will definitely be doing this again - hopefully soon. The CArnival Liberty is a nice ship - very clean, very nice decor, very friendly staff and has everything to make your vacation perfect. The gym was great! STate of the art equipment and again very clean. I will defintely cruise on the Liberty again. Thanks for making my vacation fabulous! Ship QualityI was truly amazed at how the ship was very very clean even for the amount of people on board. Dining/Foodthe fine dining was perfect and the food at Harry's Supper club was very good. Not what we expected! by
Connie R. from Blountville, TN Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: genuine care & concern Cons: having to leave early We were on our first cruise! It was exciting to say the least! I was impressed with the initial safety measures and the organization & processing ease in boarding. The best impression was the PEOPLE who served us- the smiles and GENUINE welcome and care we received from the entire staff. Everyone there must love their jobs because morale was high and staff attitudes were so positive. Unfortunately I encountered a medical emergency, so our cruise ended early. Ship QualitySeparate places for activityy and quiet reflection & reading made our time- limited sailing experience very enjoyable. Everything was spanking-clean. Dining/FoodFood was wonderful- even when I was placed on clear liquids because of my condition, the chef rounded up some special items just for me. Stateroom QualityOur cabin's comfort - especially he quality of the bed - was exceptional.
Romi arranged for us to obtain outlets for 2 C-Pap machines. Ship Staff QualityWe had a very helpful steward, Romi. After an unforseen medical emergency, I ended up in the Infirmary under the loving-care of several nurses and Dr's, A nurse myself, I am not quick to compliment medical care, BUT, the lead nurse, Yolanda was extremely kind and proficient. I got immediate & top-notch medical help- I was amazed at the ship's capacity for this! Alas, we had to dis-embark because of my illness- yet Carnival guest services, Edie Meadows, stayed with us by phone for several days. She opened my insurance case, which helped a lot as we were transferred to 2 hospitals -one being on foriegn soil. We felt CARED-FOR and NOT FORGOTTEN even though we missed out on our special anniversary vacation plans. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe came for peace & quiet, R & R and we had this at our disposal. We greatly enjoyed the formal dining! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

i thought I was treated poorly by
Joshua R from mesa Az Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: this was my first cruise so there were alot. Cons: i left not feeling very happy. The ship its self was great and most of the crew were outstanding Ship Qualitywhen walking by someone i almost always had a crew member say hello Dining/Foodgreat from the drink girl to our waiters. Stateroom QualityThis is where most of my problems happened. Ship Staff Qualityone crew member did not do her job and she also made a very rude comment about my handicapped wife's problem. A supervisor not only didn't do his job but he couldn't face me. He called me and left a message Entertainment & Activitiesi had a great time with entertainment I was hypnotized and the main attraction. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Great cruise for the money by
Kristy O from Atlanta GA Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: The cleanlieness of teh ship Cons: The food and teh waitstaff This is the cruise we took for our honeymoon. The ship was about half full I would say, making it actually quite managable to get around. The cruise director, Butch was teh best I have ever encountered. I am an avid cruiser, and tehis was mu now hubbys first cruise ever. The ship was a bit smaller than I was expecting. The ceilings were low throughout, rather than the grand feeling you get from other ships. We should have sprung for a suite...we had a balcony nroom on the 8th floor. I got to peek into some suites...they are worth the upgrade!!! Do it!!!!! The beds are not comfortable, however teh pillows are. Don't forget your watch, because as usual there are no clocks in the rooms. This was by far the cleanest ship I have ever been on. The ports were great, the debarcation flawless, and in October- we had PERFECT weather. The entertainment on the ship was lacking in a big was....bad commmedian, a hypnotist, some silly games...we preferred to stay at the piano bar or casino for the action. This cruise was filled with older couples. We did find one other couple our age that we spent the entire week with. For the most part.....it was 45 and up. The food: Average at best. I was actually a little embarrased, because I went on an on about how good the food would be to my hubby. It was over salted and bland for the most part with GREAT presentation. Drinks were a great price at 5-7 dollars. We brought in our own liquor with ease...shhhhhh ;) The gym and teh spa are both by far superior to other ships. Great prices on mens haircuts and specials on the last day. Stateroom was clean, obnoxious orange in color. The attendant was awesome and very attentive. My husband has now seen what cruising is like, and he's ready to book the next one, so that's a good thing! Enjoy your vacation....you'll like this ship! Ship Quality

  An excellent experiencd by
A Traveler from Long Island, NY Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: The ship Cons: The food, I expected to eat more of a seafood variety, although the food was great, and the service was the best, I was expecting more seafood. All in all, the service, the food, the trip in all was wonderful. Highly recommend. The ship was very impressive. I was amazed on how spotless everything was. It didn't matter that there were over 3,000 passenger, you can eat off the floors. The staff were great. All in all, Carnival Liberty made my vacation extra special. Much thanks to Marco, from housekeeping, Robert and Utama, our waiters for the week. Thank you. Dining/FoodA touch of more seafood, should be added to the menu. Stateroom QualityMarco, from Deck 0, was the best Ship Staff QualityEveryone went out of their way to make the stay unforgettable. Entertainment & ActivitiesI think a little more variety on the entertainment section. I wasn't so thrill with the comedians. I guess I don't have much of a sense of humor. Children's ProgramsMy 15 year old and 12 year old, loved it. The ship was safe, they had a blast 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  An okay cruise by
Megan M. from St. Louis, MO Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: The work staff and food Cons: noise in the room, lack of cooperation with activities, try to scam you every corner you turn to take more of your money "but if you buy this or do this you get . . ." The ship is where my problem is. Our room was so noisy that we did not get a lot of sleep on our vacation. We called to complain about the noise, but it still went of, if not got worse. I actually slept on the balcony one night. The activities on board were not that great and were usually during the afternoon, when most people just wanted to lay out and swim. The ship was VERY crowded, there was a line for aboslutley everything!!! The food was great and so were the people that worked on the ship. All in all the ship had way too many people on it and not enough things to do in a wider time range. Dining/FoodThe food was great, after waiting 20 minutes in line to get it. Stateroom QualitySo noisy that we couldn't even sleep or relax. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesThe ship was like a cheap and cheesey version of Las Vegas. If you wanted to do things during the day, this is the ship for you. Or to be interupted ALL day by the cruise director on the P.A. he would not stop! 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

Karen A. from Florida Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: Food, staff and ship energy Cons: Need more family activities for children and shows need more variety. Not enough. The food was amazing, the staff had everything ready for us before we even sat down and the room service experience was exceptional. Every day our room was cleaned and organized before we would go back to room. Everyone kept such a wonderful disposition. Ship shopping the best!!! Duty free alcohol was the beast deals ever!!
